  • TED is the big brother in the family: it began in 1984 as a conference where technology, entertainment and design came together, and today covers almost all topics – from science to business to global issues – in more than 100 languages. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED created a programme called TEDx. TEDx events are independently organised and surface ideas about communities. They are true to the TED mission, as non-profit organisations devoted to spreading ideas. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx programme, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organised. This videoadds some colour to the explanation. Our event TEDxyouth@Kamalpokhari concerns such shifts in our values, perspectives and ideas, our theme is “Changing Currents”; “Changing currents. We are seeing rapid changes in every aspect of life; from medical research, transportation to the way we use our phone camera. ”“Changing currents”, because we believe that swift changes in our mindsets alter our destination. “Changing currents” it will be giving voice to local heroes in a bid to bring positive changes in society. It will feature inspirational stories of these heroes waiting to for their ideas to be shared.
